Jono & Lucy.
26th August 2021 - OH ME OH MY, liverpool
Oh girl, you are the keeper
I could swear my heart won't break in time
My love runs deeper
Let's spend this life as one
Until we're born
Jono and Lucy were one of my ‘lockdown weddings’ which meant that everything had to be replanned and rescheduled. Thankfully, they took it all in their stride and you’d never have known how much work had gone in to just getting to the day. Once the new date finally arrived, it was a lovely autumn morning. The weather was amazing - the sun was shining and it was lovely and cool.
The service took place at Long Lane church in Garston. The morning set the tone for the day really… no drama and dead laid back. The service was chilled, but really thoughtful. Bill conducted the ceremony and Bryan, (a friend of Jono and Lucy) delivered a personalised and memorable address.
From there, OH ME OH MY was the venue for the reception. It’s always brilliant going there. The team who hosts is always dead helpful, and the food is amazing. Obviously, one of the main attractions is the stunning rooftop terrace.
It was nice, after doing so many ‘lockdown’ weddings seeing people able to mix and chat again. It was also nice seeing Jono and Lucy able to spend time together speaking to everyone too. I particularly loved the fact Lucy and Jono had ordered the same Stan Smith’s, with green detailing, to wear for the reception! (If you’re going to wear a pair of trainers for comfort to your wedding, the best possible choice has to be a clean, crisp classic!) - I’m sure any time they see a pair of Stan Smith’s from now on, they’ll remind them of their wedding day! Love that.
Just as I left, guests were filtering on to the roof as the sun was setting with drinks. A brilliant end to a boss day!
Here’s some highlights from the day…
